How does ServiceMinder help with lead acquisition? By letting you connect forms on your website — or any popular landing page host like Gravity Forms — directly into ServiceMinder. When a prospect submits a form, the lead flows in automatically with full tracking of where it came from.
Here’s how to set it up in five steps.
Step 1: Create an API Key
First, create an API key that authorizes form data to enter ServiceMinder. Think of it as a literal key to your database. Keep this number secure — you’ll append it to the webhook URL that receives form submissions.
Step 2: Set Up Channels and Campaigns
Next, create a Channel (the primary source, like “Online Marketing”) and then Campaigns within that Channel to track each ad campaign, ad group, or landing page individually. This is what lets you break down revenue by lead source later.
Step 3: Create a Webhook
After your Channel and Campaigns are set up, create a Webhook for your landing page’s form submissions. This is a URL with your API key appended. When someone submits the form, their data is sent encrypted to your ServiceMinder account. Make sure your webhook form fields match ServiceMinder’s accepted field labels.
Step 4: Add Hidden Fields to Your Forms
Add hidden fields to your landing page forms that tell ServiceMinder which Channel and Campaign the submission came from. The hidden fields aren’t visible to visitors — they just route the data correctly. Your visible form fields can be as complex as you like, but the labels need to match ServiceMinder’s supported field names exactly.
Step 5: Test Before You Launch
Test your form submissions before launching any campaigns. If a field isn’t populating, it’s almost always a label mismatch — for example, the form says “Phone” but ServiceMinder expects “Phone1.” These are easy fixes with no impact on user experience.
Once the form is working, you’ll get a notification when a new contact is added via API, and you’ll be able to filter leads by Campaign within each Channel.
What Happens Next
Once you’re capturing leads, you can start nurturing them automatically. For example, when a new contact arrives from Campaign X, you can set up a trigger that immediately sends a thank-you email or text. That’s a simple tactic, but it illustrates the bigger point: knowing exactly where each lead came from lets you build smarter follow-up sequences and track which campaigns are actually producing revenue.
The ability to see what’s working and what isn’t is critical for budgeting and planning. ServiceMinder makes it straightforward to break down performance by campaign so you can stop spending on what doesn’t convert.
